What more can we do for YOU and for our community as a whole?

This is the question we ask ourselves before starting any of our outreach initiatives. Hope Through Darkness takes extreme pride in our outreach programs.

Did you know that 80% of incarcerated individuals need some form of mental health care? Along with that, a record breaking amount of the homeless population are suffering from mental illness or substance abuse. We see this part of our population every single day, and yet most of these individuals go without the necessary support and care they need; that we can so easily provide.

We connect individuals struggling with a mental illness, drug addictions, that have found themselves homeless, hopeless, and helpless with the proper information and resources they unfortunately don’t know about or can’t access without our help. Some of this information and resources includes finding housing, providing options for getting sober, providing meals, warm clothes, and support so everyone knows they are not forgotten about.

We also have the experience and knowledge to provide incarcerated or institutionalized individuals with transitional care support/information upon their release. After being in a prison or hospital for so long, transitioning back into the community as a member of society can seem like the scariest thought in the world. Our mentors have experience with individuals on each side of that transition, and we want to help.
